Thames To Tama

A costume sculpture created as part of Thames to Tama, a large scale installation based on the life of William Adams, the first British man to set foot in Japan in the 16th century. The Costume was inspired by Japanese farmers clothing called Ranru, combined with Elizabethan fashion and portraits of William Adams worked into the textile surface.
